In February, we got a lot of snow! Even though we didn’t get any school “snow days” out of it, it was nice to play in the snow (for about 15 minutes until I remembered how cold snow was on your bare hands). The snow didn’t last that long, unfortunately, but we did have quite a few more arrivals into the world. In February we went to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. We took my 2-year-old Maintainer bull, Tuff; 1-year-old Maine bull,Walker (for sale); 1-year-old Red Angus heifer, Reba; and 2-year-old Maine heifer, Jasper.Walker and Reba did ok as they stood about in the middle of their classes. Tuff won Reserve Champion Maintainer Bull, and Jasper was Reserve Division Champion. I wish I could show pictures, but for copyright rea- sons, I won’t. Although, you will be able to find me in the Maine Association magazine with Tuff and his banner. Some exciting 4-H news that I am proud to announce is that I was selected to be on our County 4-H Agriculture Ambassa- dor Team. The program consists of us going to businesses and schools to educate people about our industry, along with us taking field trips to educate ourselves about areas of agricul- ture that we may not already be proficient in. I am very excited to see what else we will do this year. In some other random news, we have now acquired a second cat. One day I just saw a stray, black-and-white cat with no tail sitting outside of a barn. None of our neighbors claimed him, and he seemed to be super nice, so I took him to the vet and named him Pickles. For my birthday this year I decided to get a belt buckle cake. It was a nice treat since I haven’t had a personalized cake in a while. I’ll see y’all in the next issue! Cowgirl Caddllacs Horse Sale FAR LEFT: An enthusiastic crowd gathered in Wickenburg, Ariz. in late February for the Cowgirl Cadillacs Horse Sale. LEFT: A young girl was excited to meet her horse for the first time at the sale.
