Tommy began his career in the cattle industry in 1969, work- ing until his retirement in 2012. He managed Nortex Feeders at Dalhart, Texas, for a time and served on the Texas Cattle Feeders Association Board of Directors from 2000-2002. He is survived by his wife, Betty, and two children.  VAN ELDON BRIMHALL , 92, passed away Feb. 5, in Tyler, Texas. “Doc,” as he preferred to be called, graduated in 1960 from the University of California, Davis, veterinary school and embarked on a career as a large animal veterinarian, focus- ing on commercial cattle operations. He was instrumental in developing a binding agent that allowed him to create an indi- vidualized feed regimen for each ranch based on its animals’ specific nutritional needs. He was an active, life-long member of the Texas Cattle Feeders Association. He is survived by his wife, Lois, and three children.  Colorado CEOWORLD Magazine has recognized Colorado State University’ s (CSU) Temple Grandin, Ph.D. , as one of the top 10 college professors in the United States. Ranking her as the seventh best in the country, the magazine praised Gran- din for being a “prominent author and speaker,” and acknowledged her work in the worlds of autism and animal science. Grandin was born with severe autism in 1947. She later overcame numerous obstacles to become an innovative figure in the agricultural field. She is currently a professor of animal science at CSU, and the university is hon- oring her with the Temple Grandin Equine Center. Texas Morgan Treadwell, Ph.D. , Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service range specialist, San Angelo, was recognized as the Out- standing Young Range Professional by the Society for Range Management during their recent annual meeting. Nathan Pike joins Alltech as the beef technical manager and regional sales manager for the New Mexico region. He joins Alltech with more than 20 years of industry experience with Cargill . Alltech regional sales manager Randy Asher will assume a new role as U.S. small ruminant and wild game species manager. He will provide national support to producers of this growing segment of the livestock market. Shelby Roberts, Ph.D., will transi- tion from her current role as a beef research scientist based at Alltech’s headquarters in Lexington, Ky., to a new position focused on beef technical sales support based in Texas. Merck Animal Health ’s Angela Bay- singer, DVM , received “Feather in Her Cap” award from the Feather in Her Cap Association for her significant contri- bution and achievements to the animal health industry, including mentoring and developing future women leaders. National Beef Packing Company, LLC , announced plans to increase processing capacity and production at the Iowa Premium facility located in Tama, Iowa. National Beef, headquartered in Kansas City, Mo., acquired the Iowa Premium plant in June 2019. At the time of acquisition, Iowa Premium employed more than 800 people and processed approximately 1,100 head of corn-fed, Black Angus cattle. A planned additional investment of more than $100 million will allow the plant to increase harvest capacity to approximately 2,500 head per day. ServiTech announced it has added industry expert Rob Swieter as territory leader in Iowa. Prior to joining the Servi- Tech team, he was a digital agronomist at FluroSat . 
