Additionally, USMEF announced Greg Ibach , USDA’s undersecretary for marketing and regula- tory programs was the recipient of its Michael J. Mansfield Award and Roel Andriessen , who served as USMEF chairman in 2015- 2016 and is a former chairman of the USMEF Exporter Committee, received the organization’s Distinguished Service Award. Company Allflex , part of Antelliq , has hired Bill McCoy as their feedlot business development manager. McCoy will be based in Temple, Texas, and will oversee feedlot business development in North America. A native of Texas, Bill is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a master’s in feedyard management. Diamond V recently named Dr. Ilkyu Yoon the recipient of the company’s President’s Award, which is given to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional, sustained contributions to the company. Dr. Yoon, director of ruminant research and techni- cal support for Diamond V, has been with the company for over 23 years and leads Diamond V’s dairy research, having spear- headed numerous new product and technical developments during his tenure at the company. Vets Plus, Inc. , announced the expansion of their Meno- monie, Wisc., manufacturing facilities. They are adding over 30,000 sq. ft. to their Stokke plant, increasing the total production floor space by 40 percent. Vets Plus, Inc., has also hired Robert Devlin, DVM, MBA , as vice president of private label business operations; and Stefano Pettinella, MBA , as vice president of international business development in a newly created position. Zinpro Corporation is acquiring two leaders in water-soluble- based animal nutrition and nutritional support products, Para- gon Specialty Products, LLC , Rainsville, Ala., and CouvLotta, LLC , Rockport, Texas. The expected close date for the acquisi- tions was Nov. 1, 2018. Dr. Ilkyu Yoon Earl “Jay” Crofoot , 91, passed away in Lubbock, Texas, Sept. 14. Jay was best known in the cattle industry for his family partner- ship in Lubbock Feeders, LP, with his father, E.C., and son, Terry. He and his wife were patrons in the healthcare community, establishing an Endowed Chair in Epilepsy at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and providing funding for medical equipment at Covenant Medical Center, most notably in the epilepsy monitoring unit. Jay is survived by his wife, Jinny, and four children. Earl “Jay” Crofoot John Meetz John Meetz, 73, passed away in Witchita, Kan., Oct. 2. He had an extensive career in association management as CEO for both the Kansas Livestock Association in Topeka and the National Cattleman’s Association in Denver, Colo. John moved on to various positions in the cattle industry, serving as vice president for Koch Beef Company inWichita, vice president and founding partner of Future Beef Operations in Arkansas City and as a consultant for dozens of business ventures in the agricultural and cattle industries. Most recently, he acquired The Alternative Board (TAB) of SC Kansas, serving as its owner/CEO. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, and their four children.  and management of animals to meet increasing demand for protein world- wide. Their efforts weren’t as much for the U.S. market where consumers are confused by so much misinformation, they were focused on the developing world, which is demanding more protein as their affluence grows. We must maintain a global view to keep our perspective in production agri- culture. Yes, we must continue to fight against the growing divide between the city dweller and the country dweller, but we also should take comfort in the fact that the world needs what we do. People need what we do. People drive our business.
