He spent his early weeks in the company of humans and dogs, but has returned to the herd and is adjusting well to his role as a bovine. Photos courtesy Todd, Amber and Cody Crist .  KARL Program Developing Leadership Excellence It's a Miracle Mary Sawyers, owner of Shine-to-Go, headquartered in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, passed away in late summer. Mary’s boot shine stand was a staple at nearly every big cattle convention. Her friendly face lit up many cowboys ready for a break in her comfortable chair. Mary will be missed, but her shine stand will still be on hand, as family members and employees carry on the tradition Mary built.  Cattle Community Loses a Treasure KARL Class XV has had a great day networking, learning, and experiencing Garden City and the surrounding Southwest Kansas area. Tours included Brookover Ranch, Tyson beef packing plant, DFA, Meis & Sons Trucking and Sunflower Electric. 
