John Deere 5M and 6R utility tractors feature integrated technology to give producers an easy, cost-effective way to view AutoTrac™ automated guidance system information without having to buy a separate display. Additional updates for 5M tractors include an optional CommandQuad™ automatic transmission that automatically selects the ideal gear and engine speed for optimal fuel efficiency. What’s more, for model year 2022, John Deere has added new transmission options and more top- end horsepower by adding a 125-hp tractor to the lineup. This John Deere 560M baler features an accumulator, which gives producers the ability to carry two bales while a third is being made in the bale chamber. Round bale accumulators have shown to reduce bale retrieval time by up to 50 percent while significantly reducing crop damage, soil compaction, fuel consumption, and labor and operator fatigue. That’s because the operator can place bales where they can be best picked up for storage. The 450M round baler comes in a package that can put silage into a round bale or make standard dry hay bales. And it can give you bales with substance. For dry hay, a full-size bale will tip the scales at 1,650 pounds. Putting up silage? It will pack 2,200 pounds of silage into a bale. An electronic display in the tractor gives you an idea of the bale size the machine is kicking out the back door.  “The W200M and W235M self-propelled windrowers offer a cost- effective option for producers to consider,” says Chase Milem, John Deere hay and forage marketing manager. The machines have new cab and lower horsepower options. The new cab features integrated technology and features that allow in-cab adjustments to improve windrow formation and dry-down, Milem says. Getting hay in the barn or stacked is a race against time. John Deere’s new windrowers produce 10 percent wider windrows than previous models and have a 24-mph transport speed, both of which cut the amount of time it takes to get hay down. The W200M and W235M windrowers are available with optional Starfire™ receivers and a Generation 4 CommandCenter™ with AutoTrac™. These controls allow operators to quickly adjust windrow width and tilt from the cab while cutting. Using the TouchSet settings library, operators can move between settings with ease. This makes it easy to optimize the windrower to accommodate varying field and crop conditions. Hay quality begins to decline the moment the windrower lays the crop into windrows. Beyond baling the forage as soon as it’s ready, wrapping the bales helps keep the nutrients locked in while the hay is stored. John Deere offers new combination round balers that allow producers to more efficiently cut, bale and wrap all types of forage for higher quality feed. The combination balers utilize John Deere V-series variable chamber baler with a 7-foot pickup and Maxi-Cut™ precutter with up to 25 knives to size the length of cut, depending on operator preference. The high capacity feeding system features a large diameter converging auger to ensure smooth, consistent flow of all types of forage, from straw to heavy, dense alfalfa to tough cover crops. This results in more uniform bale size. HAYING TIME ROLLS AROUND 560M ROUND BALER WITH ACCUMULATOR 5M TRACTOR 450M SILAGE BALER BALE WRAPPER W235M WINDROWER
