Owner of the JL Ranch, he partnered with Johnny Trotter, Stan Sigman and Narciso Flores in All American Ruidoso Downs Racing LLC and All American Ruidoso Horse Sales LLC in 2017. Andreini was active in the American Quarter Horse Association, serving on the board of directors and racing council. Andreini is survived by his wife, Linda, and six children. Trail’s End Ben Neier, 86, passed away Aug. 28 in Dodge City, Kan. Growing up feeding cattle and farming, Neier was considered the “father of the feed mixer” after he designed the first three-auger feed mixer in the 1960s. With more than 20 patents to his name, he founded two manufacturing companies, BJM and Roto-Mix, and was named Kansas Governor’s Exporter of the Year in 1996. Neier is survived by his wife, Jan, and five children. John Andreini Ben Neier National The American Association of Bovine Practitioners inducted two longtime cattle veterinarians into the Cattle Production Veterinarian Hall of Fame . Feedlot veterinarian Dr. Delbert Miles , Greeley, Colo., and the late Dr. Leland Allenstein , a dairy veterinarian from, Whitewater, Wis., were recognized for their dedication to the health and well- being of cattle. Chad Lottman was elected president of the American Association of Meat Processors during the 79th Annual Convention of Meat Processors and Suppliers’ Exhibition. Lottman is the owner of C&C Processing in Diller, Neb., and Land- mark Snacks in Beatrice, Neb. Texas Dale R. Woerner , a meat science researcher who earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Texas Tech , will start this fall as the Cargill Endowed Professorship in Meat Science Sustain- ability in the Texas Tech Department of Animal & Food Sciences. The position was made possible by a $750,000 donation from Cargill in May 2017. Company BioZyme® Inc. , has hired Ashley Fitzsimmons as the regional & partners in performance marketing manager. In this newly-created role, she will use her agriculture and marketing expertise to assist dealers and area sales manag- ers with marketing plans, from initial planning through the execution steps. Certified Angus Beef® recognized Gerald Timmerman , Springfield, Neb., with the 2018 Feeding Quality Forum Industry Achievement Award for his longtime dedication to putting the consumer first. Diamond V has hired Janet Krenn as technical marketing manager. Krenn will be responsible for the technical marketing aspects of the ruminant business, focusing on product information, research, technical collateral and regulatory coordina- tion for marketing. Diamond V also hired Jana Powell, DVM , as Southeast ruminant field technical specialist. She will provide field support and technical assistance for dairy producers, nutri- tionists, veterinarians and feed produc- tion professionals in the Southeastern United States. Zinpro Corporation has hired Laura Amundson, Ph.D. , in a newly created position as basic metabolism researcher. In this role, Amundson will join other members of the company’s research and nutritional services (RNS) team to help identify, assess and develop new nutri- tional products that will improve wellness and performance for livestock, poultry, pet and other species. Zinpro has also added Chanda Engel as a research assistant. She supports the company’s RNS team and its ruminant nutrition research and communication efforts.
