Keeping Them Fed
By Chris McClure Contributing Editor
The heater doesn’t work but the tires are good
And there’s a bit of a bend there on the hood
Where an old cow decided she knew how to climb.
The radio works, but it’s only one station
That you can’t really hear because of vibration
With squeaks and rattles that never seem to keep time.
The very best part is the cake box on back
That surely does beat feeding out of a sack
Especially on those cold winter days in the wind.
If she’ll just hold together for one more season
Then maybe I’ll finally listen to reason
And fix the heater in this wore out old friend.
