Fifty-six years later, Garden City, Kan, is still the place to be in early June for the one of the best recognitions of cattle feeding … Beef Empire Days. “We ‘steak’ our future on it” was the theme for the beef promotion event, which included rodeos, a carnival and a parade along with the live show, cattle working contest, cattle crawl and awards banquet.
