Taking a Moment

Taking a Moment

By Chris McClure Contributing Editor

We run, run, run with our nose to the ground

Chasing a scent like some old hound

But sometimes we need to stop and take stock

Of things all around and the noise we should block.

We often lose sight of what we should seize

When we are lost in the woods but can’t see the trees.

It’s time to assess where we’re going from here

And focus our time on the things we hold dear.

When the path is uncertain it’s time to take pause

Assess your progress, reexamine your cause

Adjust your plan and set new goals

Or you might just end up on forbidding shoals.
