The Gate

If you’ve ever worked with cattle, you know about a gate.
If you want a cow to go through it, she’ll try to dodge her fate.
Don’t try to drive her through it or she’ll run right over you
Because her instinct is for flight or fight and she can’t choose between the two.
Sometimes you can lead them with some feed or maybe hay.
You must take your time though so they will find their way.
If you get too far ahead of them, they’ll take another trail
Then stand there at the fence and bawl and swish their tail.
But, say you’re in a hurry and forget to close a gate
You might as well accept the fact that you’re going to be late.
